About Yashpal Rathore
Yashpal Rathore is an award-winning wildlife photographer, author, camera trap specialist, entrepreneur, and public speaker known for his work documenting wildlife and remote natural ecosystems across the world.
Originally trained as an electrical engineer, Yashpal chose to pursue his passion for wildlife, visual storytelling, and exploration, building a career that combines fieldcraft, technology, conservation, and photography.
Through Wild Spirit, Yashpal mentors and guides photography tours, workshops, and expeditions across diverse destinations including India, Africa, Antarctica, the Arctic, and other remote wilderness regions. His tours are designed to help photographers develop both technical skills and a deeper understanding of wildlife behaviour, light, composition, and ethical field practices.
As a Camera Trap specialist, Yashpal has pioneered the use of custom DSLR-based camera trap systems, enabling the documentation of rarely seen species and behaviour in challenging environments. His technical expertise and field experience have contributed to several acclaimed wildlife documentaries featuring India’s tigers, snow leopards, and other elusive predators.
Beyond photography expeditions, Yashpal regularly conducts photography talks, educational workshops, and public presentations, inspiring audiences with stories from the wild and encouraging meaningful connections with nature through visual storytelling.
